ALL ACCESS PASS

Once or twice in my life I've had an "All Access" pass to an event or a conference.

Having an all access pass is fantastic.

It means nowhere is off limits:

  • The arena/auditorium
  • Backstage
  • The greenroom

All of it.

If you don't have the pass.

Good luck.

Something similar to this is happening in 2 Corinthians 1:20a.

2 CORINTHIANS 1:20A

Paul is writing to a church in Corinth, and he's talking about what it means to be filled, marked, and sealed by the Spirit.

And as he approaches the crux of his argument he says this:

20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ.

In other words,

  • There are promises God has made
  • Access to the promises has sometimes been historically "Yes" to Israel and "No" to Gentiles
  • Now, however, access to the promises is "Yes" in Christ - regardless of Jew for Gentile.

This is fabulous news.

Everyone can get their hands on an All Access pass to the promises of God if they are "in Christ."

"YES" TO THE PROMISE YOU NEED

This means, for those that are in Christ, by faith, you can access God's promises.

  • Promise of forgiveness? It's "Yes" in Christ.
  • Promise of peace? It's "Yes" in Christ.
  • Promise of healing? It's "Yes" in Christ.
  • Promise of blessing? It's "Yes" in Christ.
  • Promise of abundance? It's "Yes" in Christ.

No matter the promise, by faith, we can access those promises.

So lean into prayer, worship, and confession as you lean into the promises of God for your life.
